Central University of Technology (CUT) online applications for 2025 academic year are officially open.Students who wish to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications can now apply for admission.

CUT is one of the Technical Universities in South Africa, and its foremost higher education institution in the heartland of South Africa. The education university has two campuses – one in Bloemfontein, the judicial capital of South Africa, and one in Welkom, in the heart of the Free State goldfields.

The two campuses offer education opportunities in a number of technological fields, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); management sciences; humanities; and education.

CUT Required Documents for Application

Current matriculants: upload final Grade 11 results or Grade 12 June results if available.
Already matriculated applicants: you must upload your certified ID and National Senior Certificate.
Higher qualifications than matric: you must upload your certified ID, National Senior Certificate, your qualification(s) and study record.
Postgraduate applicants: Engage with the Head of the Department / Assistant Deans, Research Innovation and Engagement to discuss research project for Masters or Doctorate study before applying online. For more information, visit CUT’s Graduate School.

Central University of Technology (CUT) admission requirements

The minimum admission requirements for a Bachelor’s degree programme remain the same, namely, a NSC with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), coupled with an achievements rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in any four (4) NSC subject except Life Orientation.For more information on admission requirements consult CUT prospectus
